Trusting Your Gut

Writer: ldsanonldsanon

How did you come to believe

That Jesus is real?

Did you reason it out?

Did you seek out proofs?

Did you apply scientific methods

Or seek evidence that would convince a jury?

Or did you just feel the truth of it?

Who can prove that Jesus rose from the dead,

Appeared to a dozen people,

And finally to a group of around 500 believers?

Why didn’t he show himself to Annas, Caiaphas, or Pilate?

Wouldn’t that have provided proof to others?

How important is proof?

By faith we are saved,

Not by proof.

Evidence has no saving power.

Grace comes through faith.

Grace saves us.

Therefore, how can you know that Jesus is real,

Or that the Bible is true,

Or that the Book of Mormon is true,

Or that Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet of God,

That there were gold plates and an angel from heaven,

Bringing the everlasting gospel again to the world?

Can you feel truth?

How does it feel to you?

How does God’s voice speak to you?

What greater evidence can you have

Than to hear and understand the Spirit’s voice?

For you skeptics, who believe in Jesus and the Bible,

And disbelieve Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon,

Yet you follow Q:

How is it you came to believe in Q?

Is it because of the proofs

Or is it because you trusted your gut?

Apply the same approach

And you will be taught the truth by the Spirit of God

Speaking to heart and mind.

Trust your gut.

Ask of God.

You have more than you know.

Expand your thinking.
