The Chastening

Are we experiencing a national or global chastening? We know the Deep State is behind this whole Coronavirus thing, but we also know the Lord uses man-made events like wars to send correction upon his children. Consider the following sequence of events.

• Deep State players like Soros, Gates, and Fauci (through the NIH) provided funding for a virology research lab in Wuhan, China.

• A genetically-modified Coronavirus escaped containment at the lab, either inadvertently or by design.

• The current Coronavirus has a patent number, owned by the Gates Foundation.

• When the virus emerged "in the wild," China closed down all domestic air travel to Wuhan, but left the city open to international flights.

• China lied about the transmissability of the virus and a China-controlled WHO also passed on false information about the virus to the international community.

• Pelosi, Nadler, and Schiff ignore the Constitution and precedents to hold secret impeachment hearings against the President. After a party-line vote for impeachment, Speaker Pelosi delayed (for ten days) sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate for trial until January 15.

• On January 15, the China trade deal was supposed to take effect--an agreement that would cost China billions in tariffs. There was an "out" for China, written in the form of a "panedmic" clause in the treaty.

• On January 15, the first infected patient (US Patient Zero) arrived in the US from Wuhan, beginning the spread of the virus in America.

• Within a couple of weeks, deaths surged. Dem governors locked down their states and, at the same time, ordered infected patients into nursing homes, driving up the death toll.

• The virus killed the booming Trump economy and record employment gains, stops popular Trump rallies, and gave the Dems ammunition to push for fraud-susceptible mail-in voting.

• When the virus started to die out, the Deep State attempted to start a race war using Antifa, BLM, and their Dem co-conspirators.

• When race riots failed to cause a race war, the MSM pivoted back to a second wave of lockdowns, blaming a Trump rally in Tulsa, not the thousands of rioters in dozens of Dem cities.

Right now, millions of Americans are out of work. The government is in partisan gridlock. The House members are avoiding Washington, D.C. and is illegally voting by proxy. Partisan priorities prevent the government from putting together economic stimulus plans and financial relief to citizens and businesses. The Dems hold the legislation hostage until they can use their leverage to get funding for abortion and various Dem money-laundering operations.

There are wicked people in both parties. There are wealthy Democrats and Republicans who "grind the nose of the poor" as Isaiah called it, who exploit the lower classes for their own gain. There are Chamber-of-Commerce GOP was well as liberal Democrats who profit from illegal immigration and would profit more from open borders. There are those on both sides who profit from illegal drugs and human traficking. There are Democrats and Republicans who launder money and hide their globalist bribes from the rest of us. There are corrupt people in the MSM who repeat scripted lies for money and fame.

In the end, the blame for all the corruption falls squarely on the American people. We were so unrighteous as to tolerate and even promote licentiousness, illegitimacy and bastardy, homosexuality, pedophilia, pornography, profligacy, and perversion that the Spirit has withdrawn its protective, moderating influence. We are reaping the bitter harvest we have sown. In our hearts, we know that the world has largely ignored God, and for the greater part, the Restoration of his gospel. The Lord warned in the earliest revelations of this dispensation that he mercifully sent forth warnings, knowing the calamities that would come upon the earth. As a nation, America ignored those warnings, treated the servants of God with contempt, and killed a prophet. The chicks have come home to roost.

Latter-day Saints are likewise undergoing a time of chastening. We ofen complained about the demands of obedience, tithing, chastity, and other gospel expectations. Many of us wanted to walk in the likeness of the world's image, which is idolatry. We worshiped money, power, careers, investments, and status. We didn't all heed the prophets. Church, for many of us, had become a burden and a bother. Now all that is changed. We don't meet in our meetinghouses and temples. Missionary work has all but stalled. The work for the dead has stopped entirely for now. Our spirituality depends completely on us now, to avail ourselves of online resources the inspired leaders of the Church provided for us a year before all this started. We have had our religion stripped down to its essence: the patriarchal order, fathers and mothers teaching their children, personal and family devotions, personal responses to prayers to guide us through times where nothing seems to be grounded or true.

This "Chastening" has affected everyone in the Church and it has refocused all of us on the most personal religious obligations we have--the covenant between the individual and his God. Personally, I am thankful for the opportunity to come to know the Lord better through my personal devotions. The chastening hand will be over us for a time. It will cause some to humble themselves, while others will curse God and wish to die. Perhaps this is the beginning of "the Tribulation" that many have expected for centuries. I don't know. It's just a time that is truly different than what we expected. That's enough to drive me to my knees daily and seek guidance. I recomend that course for anyone.
