I watched a video today following up on an event that took place on the 4th of July in Richmond, Virginia. There's a guy on YouTube who goes by the name John Marlk, who makes some interesting videos. He is on a bandwagon for a movement called "Propertarianism." It's sort of a libertarian nationalist movement. He has some interesting things to say, but I don't agree with most of it. I listen to a lot of voices, gathering intelligence, watching things develop. As we strive for the building up of Zion, it is worthwhile to take note of what other people are seeing and thinking.
The first section of the Doctrine and Covenants talks about the Church coming out of obscurity to become Zion. We have intentionally kept a low profile, Doctrine and Covenants 105 instructed the saints:
24 Talk not of judgments, neither boast of faith nor of mighty works, but carefully gather together, as much in one region as can be, consistently with the feelings of the people;
25 And behold, I will give unto you favor and grace in their eyes, that you may rest in peace and safety, while you are saying unto the people: Execute judgment and justice for us according to law, and redress us of our wrongs.
26 Now, behold, I say unto you, my friends, in this way you may find favor in the eyes of the people, until the army of Israel becomes very great."army of Zion becomes very great.
We have quietly grown and expande into all the world. We have saints worshipping in Communist China, Yemen, Dubai, Russia. Soon we'll have saints in Afghanistan and North Korea. It's only a matter of time. All the barriers that were there 40 years ago are nearly gone. Who would have imagined it.
Now, regarding this propertarian rally, it was a big bust, despite the build-up for it. They had about 200 people show up for it. Their big genius guy who is the brain-trust of the movement turned out to be a very un-charismatic guy and a boring speaker. Part of the rally got hijacked by Black Lives Matter. Followers of the movement had reactions ranging from annoyance to disgust. The people who turned out look like the same folks who go to ComicCon or a progressive rock concert. It was a pretty underwhelming sight.
In the city where I live, which is a blue city inside a very red state, our city council voted to defund our police several weeks ago, after a push by Black Lives Matter. This week they imposed a mandatory mask ordinance with a $500 penalty for noncomplance. It doesn't feel like we're winning this battle.
I have been debating with people all over social media. The level of obtuseness of the average citizens is startling. Those people who get their news from the MSM are totally brainwashed, even the conservative ones. Anybody who says anything not in harmony with the MSM narrative is a "conspiracy theorist." The Lord said he would send a "strong delusion" among the people (2 Thessalonians 2:11) In General, people who accept the narrative have accepted other falsehoods and are resistant to anything that encourages godliness.
Some of us placed hope in the Qanon movement, hoping to see that we could peacefully replace the wicked Cabal by exposing its works. That doesn't appear to be working. Time before the election is getting short and, so long as the MSM has power, the message won't get through. The Q plan was a long shot anyways. Even if it works, its success will only be temporary. We know that nothing succeeds permanently, except for God's love. Moroni wrote:
46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—
47 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.
So every thing else collapses or ends, except for charity? It appears so. No matter what else happens, no matter what Q or Trump or anyone else does. Political parties will fail. Militaries will fail. Politicians will fail, even Trump. Everything that we count on that is not of and from the gospel will perish.
Perhaps this is why the message to the Lord's prophet has been simply for use to lear do hear the Savior's voice and know how he talks us. For the moment, we don't have Church meetings. The temples are closed around the world. Missionary work has slowed way down. Work for the dead has almost stopped. For now, it all comes down to us and Jesus Christ. We need to find him now and get close to him.
